Chiropractor manipulating the neck of a female patient. Chiropractic is a form of medicine in which disorders are treated by manipulation of parts of the body. Manipulating the neck can be used to treat back problems, or those relating to spinal nerves. The practice is based on the theory that diseases are caused by, or at least related to, misalignment of bones and nerves. Conventional medicine views such claims with scepticism.
