Embryo transfer. Team of doctors and nurses at an in vitro fertilisation (IVF) clinic preparing for embryo transfer (ET). A nurse (left) is passing the embryo-transfer catheter, containing the embryo, to a doctor. Another nurse (right) is scanning the patient's abdomen with an ultrasound scanner. The image from the ultrasound is of the cervix and is displayed on a monitor (lower centre) showing the cervix. The embryos (monitor, upper right), will be inserted into the patient's womb (uterus) via the cervix. Successful treatment will result in the embryo implanting into the uterine wall (endometrium) and pregnancy.
Model release available. Property release not required.
