Neonatal infant. Coloured X-ray of a one month old baby. The baby's spine (down centre), heart (pink, upper centre) and ribs (upper left and right) are seen. Various life support devices are visible. The round green object to the right of the infant's abdomen is a probe to monitor carbon dioxide levels through the skin. The yellow tube running from top centre to lower right is a nasogastric tube, used for feeding through the nose directly to the stomach. Other wires seen are connections for an electrocardiograph (ECG), used to monitor the function of the infant's heart.
