Premature baby monitoring. This baby's heartbeat is being monitored by the electrocardiogram (ECG) electrodes attached to its chest. It is being fed through a nasogastric tube. A baby born before 37 weeks of development may require medical monitoring. Its immune system and internal organs will be underdeveloped, and it may have difficulties maintaining a constant body temperature. Photographed at the Robert Nebre Neonatology and Paediatric Nursing Hospital in Paris, France.
