Paediatric examination. Doctor examines a nine-month-old baby's ability to crawl. By 6 months, a baby can lift its head and chest, bearing this weight on its arms. By nine months it may be starting to crawl. A paediatrician may examine muscle tone and movement to check these are normal, and the spine for spinal bifida or other abnormalities.
