Paediatric hearing test. A doctor tests the hearing response of a baby. The doctor is using a toy which makes a noise when squeezed. The doctor squeezes the toy around the head of the baby and examines the baby's response. Paediatric medicine is dedicated to the treatment of childhood illnesses and the study of normal growth. The doctor in this case will note the responses of the child and monitor its growth and development according to important motor and intellectual milestones. Children who lag behind in development may be suffering from nutritional deficiency or one of many childhood disorders.
