Baby crying. A crying 4 month-old baby is calmed by cradling in it's mother's arms. Occasional crying is a normal way of babies to communicate that they are hungry, thirsty or uncomfortable in some way. Persistent crying may be the response to parental anxiety or an underlying illness.
