Caption

Uterine polyps. Abdominal X-ray of uterine polyps (light grey, arrowed) in a uterus (white, centre left). Its two Fallopian tubes (white, upper right and left) and the surrounding bones (light grey) are also seen. A polyp is a growth that is usually benign. It arises from mucous membranes. Polyps are usually surgically removed. The uterus has been injected with a contrast medium to allow it to be seen on this X-ray.
