Diffraction pattern created by shining a monochromatic (single wavelength) light at a circular object. The light waves bend and spread around the object and converge. This convergence creates a ringed pattern (centre), which is caused by light waves interfering with each other. The interference can be either constructive (red rings) or destructive (black rings).
