Abdominal organs. Artwork from The Viscera of the Human Body, a book edited by Jones Quain and Erasmus Wilson and published in 1840. The anterior (front) abdominal wall has been folded back to reveal the intestines (grey) and covering omentum (yellow), a fold of peritoneal membrane filled with fatty pockets. The liver (brown) is just visible at top left.
