Surrounded by herb plants, his assistant is poking snakes in a jar with a stick. Taken from Treatise on the Theriac, an Arabic manuscript from the 13th century. At this time Arabic medicine was more advanced than that of Europe. No information on the herbs' or peoples' identity available (unless you understand classical Arabic).
