Ozone paper. Advertisement for ozone paper from the 1880s. Inhalatation of the smoke released from burning this paper was claimed to cure and relieve the symptoms of asthma and bronchitis. Ozone, a form of oxygen, is not produced when burning paper, and is poisonous to humans. Smoke and ash are now shown to aggravate asthmatics and sufferers of bronchitis.
