Shoulder bones. Model of the anatomy of the shoulder joint seen from the front (anterior). It is made up of the humerus or upper arm bone (left), the scapula (shoulder blade, centre) & the clavicle (collar bone, upper centre). The humerus is joined to the scapula by a ball & socket joint at the glenoid cavity. The pectoralis major muscle (red, below clavicle) allows the arm to move forward across the chest.
