Hand bones. Computer artwork of a healthy hand and wrist joint. There are eight wrist (carpal) bones (bottom right). The carpal bones articulate with the bones of the forearm, the ulna (bottom left) and the radius (above the ulna) to form the wrist joint. From the carpal bones the five metacarpals extend through the palm and join to the phalanges, the finger bones.
