Tendon. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a freeze-fractured tendon fibre bundle. A tendon is made up of parallel bundles of collagen fibres. It is inelastic, though with a degree of flexibility, and attaches a muscle to a bone. Magnification: x1000 at 6x7cm size.
