Caption

Mesenteric arteries. Coloured angiogram (X-ray) of the inferior mesenteric arteries (yellow) which supply the intestines with blood. A catheter (yellow) is seen running along an artery from bottom left to upper centre and on to centre. The bladder (bottom left) is blue, while the pelvis (lower frame) and spine (down centre) are pink. In angiography, a radio-opaque dye is injected into an artery, in this case using a catheter.
