Blood vessels. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of blood vessels from the sclera of the eye. Arteries are red and veins are yellow. The sclera is the white of the eye, a tough protective layer. This is a resin cast - the blood vessels were flooded with a resin that then set hard. The surrounding tissue was then eaten away chemically.
