Facial nerves. Illustration of a human skull in front view showing the positions of the main facial nerves. At top is the skull's frontal lobe. Beneath it are the large holes of the orbits and nasal cavity, the positions of the eyes and nose, respectively in life. At lower frame are the teeth and mandible (jaw bone). Branches of three main nerves are shown (yellow). Above the orbits are branches of the ophthalmic nerve. Either side of the nasal cavity and leading down into the top teeth are branches of the maxillary nerve. The nerves in the jaw leading upwards into the lower teeth are branches of the mandibular nerve.
