Caption

Human brain. Computer digitised image of a healthy human brain, in side view. The external anatomy of the left side of the brain is seen. The cerebrum (at upper frame) is the largest, most highly developed region of the brain; its outer surface is folded and fissured; higher conscious thought processes occur in the cerebrum with coordination of voluntary body activity. The cerebellum (lower right) is part of the hindbrain situated close to the brainstem (bottom right). The surface of the cerebellum is also folded; this more primitive region of the brain maintains muscle tone and body balance.
