Aspects of human brains. Computer artwork of two human brains seen in oblique (three-quarters) view. The brain at bottom (silver) is upside down, with the front of the brain at right. The brain at top (gold) is the right way up and is facing left. The lower view clearly shows the cerebellum, the rounded structure at the rear and base of the brain. The brainstem is the rod-like structure emerging from the centre of the base of the brain. These two structures are less clearly seen in the upper view, which shows more of the folded outer surface (cerebral cortex) of the main part of the brain, the cerebrum.
