Kidney glomerulus. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a glomerulus, a tightly coiled ball of capillaries. Hundreds of these structures are found in the kidneys, where they filter toxic waste from the blood. The resulting waste fluid drains to the bladder as urine.
