Caption

Illustration of a dissected human testicle, showing the release of sperm from an enlarged detail (bottom) of a seminiferous tubule. The testes, the male sex organs, are the sites of production of spermatozoa (spermatogenesis) and androgen, the male sex hormone. The bulk of the testes consists of seminiferous tubules, where spermatogenesis occurs. Spermatozoa migrate from the tubules into the epididymis (the pink & yellow cap), where they mature & are stored until passing into the vas deferens (right, top) during ejaculation.
