Male reproductive system. Artwork of the organs of the human male reproductive system. The penis (right, flaccid) consists of spongy tissue that becomes erect when engorged with blood. In the scrotum behind it is one of the two sperm producing testes (pink). Maturing sperm are stored in the epididymis (blue) on the testis surface. Mature sperm pass from the epididymis into the vas deferens (blue, tube), which runs past the bladder (triangular, upper centre). Sperm are mixed with fluids from the seminal vesicle (blue, left of bladder) and prostate gland (purple, below bladder) to make the ejaculate of semen.
