Female reproductive organs. Artwork of the female reproductive organs. The bladder (yellow and red, centre left) is drained by the urethra (yellow tube, lower left). To the right of the urethra is the vagina, and to the right of that is the anus which leads into the rectal region of the gut (centre right). The vagina (lower centre) is a ribbed muscular canal that terminates internally at the cervix (centre), or neck of the uterus. The uterus (upper centre) is a hollow, muscular organ in which the embryo and foetus develop during pregnancy. There is an ovary (red, upper centre), which passes it's eggs into feathery ducts which lead to the uterus through fallopian tubes.
