The vagina (dark pink, at centre) leads through the narrow opening of the cervix into the oval uterus, where fertilised eggs become implanted during pregnancy. One of the two egg-producing ovaries (light pink) is at upper right. To the right of the vagina is the bladder, where urine from the ureter (at upper centre) is stored prior to expulsion through the urethra below. At centre left is the last part of the large intestine (colon), known as the rectum, which ends at the anus. The pubic bone (white) is at centre right.
