Cervical lining. Light micrograph of a section through the squamo-columnar epithelial junction of a cervix. The cervix is the neck of the uterus (womb). This is the junction between the endocervix, which borders the uterus, and the ectocervix, which borders the vagina. The endocervix is lined with columnar epithelial cells and the ectocervix with squamous epithelial cells.
