Underarm sweat glands. Light micrograph of a section through axillary (armpit) skin, showing several apocrine sweat glands (left). The glands are made up of a large lumen (white) surrounded by cuboidal epithelial cells (brown) that secrete the sweat into the lumen. The dark circle at right is the cross-sectional view of a hair. Iron-haematoxylin-benzopurpurine stain. Magnification: x150 when printed 10cm wide.
