Caption

Prostate. Coloured magnetic resonance image (MRI) scan of a frontal section through the prostate gland (white). Above the prostate is the bladder and at right and left are the hips. The prostate gland is part of the male sex organs and its main function is to store and secrete the clear, slightly acidic fluid that makes up semen. The prostate is found just below the bladder, where it surrounds the urethra, the tube that connects the bladder with the outside of the body.
