Thermogram of a rhea. The South American rhea (Rhea sp.) is a large flightless bird. Thermograms show emission of infrared radiation, displaying it as colour-coded surface temperatures. The range shown is from 35 degrees Celsius (red), through yellow, green and blue, down to 23 degrees Celsius (purple). Photographed in London Zoo, England.
