The head, lower arms and feet have been added by computer manipulation. Major muscles (purple) are seen in the neck, shoulders, upper arms, and thighs. Thoracic bones of the spine are seen; the lungs are visible in the thorax. In the abdomen is the liver, the two kidneys, and bladder in the pelvic region. The Visible Human Project is a US project to archive both a male and female body. Each body is CT and MRI scanned, and sectioned into slices. The project is for medical research and education.
