Junk food. Artwork of an obese man eating junk food. Obesity is defined as being over 20% above the desired body weight. It can be caused by eating too much high fat and high energy food, and not doing any exercise. Junk food such as chips and cakes are full of saturated fat from oil and cream. Obesity is a major health risk. The chances of developing high blood pressure (hypertension) are markedly raised, and the risks of artery disease rise also. This can lead to a heart attack or a stroke. Obesity can be treated with a low calorie diet and regular sustained aerobic exercise.
