Healthy eating. Two year old girl with a plate of food. She has chosen to eat grapes instead of the crisps that are on the plate. Grapes and other fruits contain high levels of vitamins and nutrients which are essential to the health of a growing child. Crisps and other ready- made snacks may contain high levels of fat, salt and artificial flavourings which are not beneficial to the health of a growing child. Over- indulgence in these types of foods can lead to childhood obesity which is becoming more common in the UK.
