Caption

Athlete movement research. Computer screen display of a wire-frame footballer about to kick a ball. This image is derived from the real movements of a footballer in an adjacent room. He is wearing reflective tags which allow cameras to follow the movements of his limbs and body. Each of the light blue circles seen here corresponds to the position of a reflector. Study of body movements may allow athletes to improve their techniques at a variety of sports. This motion analysis system was designed by Oxford Metrics for the Sports Science Department at the University of Wales at Swansea, Wales.
