Surfboard construction. New surfboard shape being finished at the Ocean Magic factory, Newquay, England. The shape has been designed by students on the Surf Science degree course. The course, at the University of Plymouth, England, is the first of its kind in the world. It teaches students business skills, wave mechanics, materials science, aerodynamics as well as surfing history & techniques. Plymouth University has sold the course to the Edith Cowen University in Australia and is in talks with the University of Hawaii. It is attempting to form a tripartite agreement so that students would study for a year at each of the three institutions.
