Sports trainer. Thermogram of a sport trainer on the foot of a runner. This view is from behind, of the trainer's sole. The colours show variations in temperature; from red (warmest) through yellow and green to blue (coldest). A temperature scale is at right, in degrees Celsius. This is a ClimaCool trainer from Adidas, first sold in 2002. The ClimaCool system provides ventilation through all surfaces of the trainer, helping to keep the athlete's foot cool. The ventilation is seen as the red areas on the sole, where heat is escaping. Photographed at the Adidas research centre in Scheinfeld, Germany.
