Stonehenge. This arrangement of megalithic standing stones is on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England. It was built in three main phases between c.3000 and c.1500 BC. Some of its stones are aligned with the position of sunrise on the longest and shortest days of the year, the summer and winter solstices respectively. The largest stones weigh over 40 tonnes and stand nearly 7 metres high.
