The Harlan J. Smith 2.7 meter (107'), and the Otto Struve 2.1 meter (82') telescopes (left to right) atop Mt. Locke in the Davis Mountains in Ft. Davis, Texas. These are two of four telescopes that make up the McDonald Observatory, located in some of the darkest skies in the continental United States.
