Caption

University of Hertfordshire observatory at the Science Learning Centre East of England in Bayfordbury, Hertfordshire. One of the observatory's eight telescope domes is seen at right. It also has a 4.5-metre diameter radio telescope (not seen), which is used by the university to map the Milky Way. The telescopes have fibre optic links to the computer monitoring building known as the Patrick Moore Building (left). This observatory is one of the best facilities available to astronomy undergraduates in the UK.
