Radio telescopes at Jodrell Bank. Two large radio telescope dishes at the Jodrell Bank Observatory, seen at twilight. At right is the 76-metre dish of the Lovell Telescope, formerly known as the Mark IA. This was the first large-dish radio telescope in the world. At left is the Mark II telescope, an elliptical dish measuring 38 metres by 25 metres. The Jodrell Bank Observatory is near Macclesfield in Cheshire, UK.
