Caption

Mars Express instrument production. Assembly of the high-resolution stereo camera for the European Space Agency's Mars Express orbiter spacecraft. Mars Express was launched in June 2003 and entered Martian orbit on 25 December 2003. This camera is being used to take high resolution (10 metres per pixel) images of the planet's entire surface, and super resolution (2 metres per pixel) images of selected areas. The initial mission, which was for one Martian year (687 Earth days), was extended in September 2005 by another Martian year.
