Howardite meteorite. This is an achondrite, a type of stony meteorite similar to the igneous rocks found on Earth. This sample was found in 1998 in the Great Sand Sea (Libyan Desert), which is part of the Sahara. The meteorite weighs 41.4 grams. It measures 4.5 by 3 by 2.5 centimetres in size.
