Octahedrite meteorite, is a type of iron meteorite. This one consists of a mineral called siderite, and is further classified as a IVA iron meteorite. This sample has been cut open and polished, revealing patterns of Widmanstatten. The sample comes from a meteorite that was found in 1836 near Gibeon, Namibia. The sample weighs 279 grams.
