False-colour perspective view of Cunitz Crater, Venus. This view is taken looking northeast from a viewpoint 215km from the crater at an elevation of 0.78km above the local terrain. Cunitz is a typical impact crater, with a central peak and a surround of radar-bright ejecta. The large feature on the horizon at left is Gula Mons, a 3km high volcano 1,095km from the crater. This image was constructed from data gathered by the Magellan radar-mapping spacecraft. The data was enhanced using radar altimetry information, and given a colour hue suggested by previous photographic records. The perspective view was then generated by a computer.
