Apollo 17 landing site on Moon, Hubble Space Telescope image. This is the Taurus-Littrow valley on the Moon, explored by humans in December 1972. This image was taken on 16 August 2005 by Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys instrument, during a survey that used ultraviolet and optical imaging to search for lunar mineral deposits.
