Wishstone rock, Mars, false colour image. Found in the Gusev crater by NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit, the rover's thermal emission spectrometer indicated that this rock was different from those surrounding. The rover's Rock Abrasion Tool (RAT) was used to drill into it, and the X-ray spectrometer indicated that there were higher levels of phosphorous than in the other rocks previously studied. Image taken on 18 December 2004.
