The Great Nebula in Orion is perhaps the most beautiful object in the sky. It is visible in binoculars as a fuzzy patch of light surrounding the sword stars below Orions belt. A telescope reveals a wealth of detail and a hint of green colour. Long exposure photographs show the red colour caused by the glow of hydrogen gas. Taken with a Meade 12 Schmidt Camera.
