Mel 25, The Hyades, Open Star Cluster. Aldeberan is the brightest star in the constellation of Taurus. It is an orange giant star with a spectral classification of K5 III. It is one of the 20 brightest stars in the sky and is located at a distance is 65 light-years. The name Aldeberan is from the Arabic meaning ''follower of the Pleiades.''.
