Photograph of Capella, the brightest star in the constellation of Auriga & the 6th brightest star in the sky. Also known as Alpha Aurigae, it is a yellow giant star (spectral type G8) 45.7 light years away. It is a spectroscopic triple star, & has a high lithium content. 22 min exposure.
