Star trails. These streaks of light are formed on long exposure photographs due to the apparent motion of the stars caused by the Earth's rotation. These trails are of the stars in the constellation Orion. The long exposure enhances the colours of the stars. The bright orange trail at left is the red supergiant star Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis). Photographed from Apache Sitgreaves National Forest, Arizona, USA.
