It orbits 52 million kilometres from its star (a third of the Earth-Sun distance), taking 76 days to complete an orbit. Ceti is a yellow subgiant star that is older than the Sun's 4.5 billion years and has a luminosity twice that of the Sun. It lies some 117 light years from Earth, in the constellation Cetus.
